Climate Change and Future Cities

Together with its partners the group develops weather and climate resilient solutions for present and future cities, which support climate neutrality. The group researches the urban environment and its development, considering also societal aspects.

The main research areas of the group:

  • Urban climate, weather and climate risks in cities, and developing hydrological and econometric modelling for urban areas

  • Impacts of built-up environment and green spaces on the micro climate of areas

  • Developing novel, digital urban weather and climate services, and testing and piloting of these novel services to support, for example, tourism sector

  • Social changes connected to climate change and cities
