Global-to-mesoscale air quality modelling

The group is involved in multi-scale modeling of atmospheric composition and air quality, for instance in development and validation of air quality models for different pollutants, especially particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and ozone, as well as in application of models in international and national projects. The group also provides operational air pollution forecasting for European, Scandinavian, and Helsinki regions and provides the decision support service for accidental releases, volcanic eruptions, and other airborne hazards.

SILAM is a global-to-meso-scale dispersion model developed for atmospheric composition, air quality, and emergency decision support applications, as well as for inverse dispersion problem solution. SILAM web site.
