Application of data protection in the Finnish Meteorological Institute
The Finnish Meteorological Institute has revised and updated its personal data processing and informing policy in accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679). The regulation will apply from 25 May 2018.
The Regulation stipulates that all processing of personal data must comply with data protection principles. The Finnish Meteorological Institute processes its personal data lawfully and transparently. The use of personal data is informed, among other things, by means of privacy notices. The data will only be used for the purpose for which it was originally collected. The Finnish Meteorological Institute shall retain the data for the period specified by law or for as long as necessary. Controller: Finnish Meteorological Institute P.O. Personal Data Request
The data subject has the right to verify their own personal data. The request for personal data can be sent to the Finnish Meteorological Institute's postal address or by e-mail kirjaamo@fmi.fi. When requesting data, the necessary information must be provided, such as the name, address, the relevant data to be checked and the period for which the data is available. The data controller only provides personal data to the data subject themselves.
