Information about the Earth's near-space energy budget using new ionosphere models

The Finnish Meteorological Institute has developed a series of new statistical models based on observations that describe the electrical currents and fields that occur at high latitudes in Earth's ionosphere. The models have helped provide new information concerning the input of solar wind energy to the Earth's magnetosphere.
