FMI IWXXM SWIM API Operational Policy

The FMI IWXXM SWIM API is strictly restricted to the aviation domain and we do not allow access to any other person or entity outside of the aviation domain, no matter if it’s non-commercial or private use.

METAR, TAF and SIGMET in IWXXM – Terms of Use

Access and use of the FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request Service is strictly limited to service consumers within the aviation domain only.

Access to and use of the content of this service means that you, as a service consumer, have accepted the following terms and conditions for FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request Service:

• Service consumers within the aviation domain shall not pass the information obtained from FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request to non-aviation users without prior authorisation from FMI.

• Do not overload FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request Service as this may result in reduced availability for all service consumers.

• Service consumers are responsible for ensuring that information retrieved from FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request Service is:

  • up to date

  • used as intended within the aviation domain

• Service consumers are responsible for keeping themselves regularly updated on published information. FMI, as a certified MET service provider, has made every reasonable effort to ensure that the information and all data presented in the FMI METAR/TAF/SIGMET Subscription and Request Service is, to the extent possible:

  • precise

  • complete

  • current

  • of adequate integrity

  • unambiguous in order to meet the needs of airspace users.

• FMI reserves the right to have service windows for maintenance.

• FMI reserves the right to block individual IP addresses or completely block service consumers in cases of obvious abuse to the terms of use.
