Risk assessment of meteorological phenomena and sea flooding to support nuclear power plant safety in Finland

A recent study compiled data on extreme weather events and sea flood risks which may affect the safety of nuclear power plants.

Researchers from the Finnish Meteorological Institute mapped out weather events critical to nuclear safety and changes in sea-level at nuclear power plant sites in Finland's changing climate. The study also simulated power plant emissions more reliably and accurately than before.
