Effect of dust particle shape on climate modelling minimal

Mineral dust is one of the most important dust particulate types, and dust particles are irregular in shape. In the climate models, however, dust particles are currently presumed to be spherical. On the basis of the tests now completed using the climate aerosol model, this simplification does not lead to significant errors.
