Finnish Meteorological Institute has four buoys in the Baltic Sea. These wave buoys are located in the Northern Baltic Proper, off Helsinki, in the Bothnian Sea and in the Bay of Bothnia. The buoys are removed before the sea freezes and redeployed in the spring when the ice has melted.
