Arctic now - Snow and Sea-Ice in the northern hemisphere
Over land the northern hemisphere Globsnow snow-water-equivalent SWE product and over sea the OSI-SAF sea-ice concentration product.
Two data sets are presented simultaneously. Over land the northern hemisphere; Globsnow snow-water-equivalent SWE product and over sea the EUMETSAT OSI-SAF sea-ice concentration product. New images are produced for the previous day in the evening.
Land snow data is only available then synoptic weather observations include snow messages, so in summer months 'No SWE data' is usual. From October onwards snow data is available as well. Over Greenland and other ice-covered land areas the snow product is not available (green areas).
