Nearly 7 million lightning flashes occur in Vietnam every year

Approximately 6.9 million lightning flashes occur in the land areas of Vietnam every year. The majority of lightning occurs during the monsoon season in April–September. On average, the most frequent lightning takes place in May.

The results are available in a study that is the first peer-reviewed article focusing on thunderstorms in Vietnam.
