    A. Hellsten has been the officially nominated responsible supervisor of D.Sc. Ashvinkumar Chaudhari at Lappeenranta University of Technology  until he graduated as Doctor of Science (Technology) in December 2014 and D.Sc. Oxana Agafonova at Lappeenranta University of Technology until he graduated as Doctor of Science (Technology) in December 2017.
