Marine observatories and measurement techniques group’s research focuses on the interactions of the marine physical and biogeochemical processes. The group develops new measurement techniques for coastal and open sea research and monitoring. The group is responsible for the development of the Utö marine research station, autonomous marine measurement techniques (Argo floats and Gliders) and marine ICOS activities. Group participates on the development of marine data processing, and quality control methods. Group works in a close co-operation with the Finnish Marine Research Infrastructure FINMARI and participates in duties related to Finland’s marine monitoring and marine strategy.
